The Hoʻomākaukau TransPacific Lūʻau serves as the official opening ceremony celebration of the TransPacific Volleyball Championships, bringing athletes, families, and coaches together for an evening of food, music, and culture in the heart of Honolulu.
Created specifically for TransPacific participants, this lūʻau offers an authentic cultural experience in a relaxed, welcoming setting—at a fraction of the cost of commercial luaus.

Schedule: Friday, January 16, 2025
- 5:00pm – Doors Open
- 5:30–6:30pm – Dinner Service
- Live music by Waimānalo Sunset Band
- 6:30–7:30pm – Performance by Kapena
- One of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic and world-famous Hawaiian bands, Kapena is known for blending island music with contemporary and reggae influences and has been entertaining audiences for decades.
- 7:30–8:30pm – Polynesian Cultural Center Performance
- Experience dynamic storytelling through music and dance, showcasing Polynesian traditions from across the Pacific, performed by artists from the world-renowned Polynesian Cultural Center.

Dinner: Hawaiian Plate – Island Favorites
Enjoy a generous Hawaiian plate featuring classic island favorites. This hearty meal includes tender Lau Lau, savory BBQ-style Chicken, and traditional Kalua Pork with Cabbage, all served with a bed of steamed rice.
Complementing the main plate are local staples Lomi Lomi Salmon, poi, and creamy haupia, finished with refreshing slices of sweet pineapple. The meal is rounded out with a classic macaroni salad and a fresh spring-mix green salad.
Your plate is accompanied by a beverage of your choice: bottled water, a refreshing juice, or soda.

All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable. The Luau will take place rain or shine. Luau and UH Men’s Volleyball game is free for ages 3 and under.
